One of the best additions to Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward was flying mounts. Actually getting around was made significantly easier, especially considering how multi-layered most of the maps were. This continues with Stormblood as being able to fly across the map will save countless hours off any player’s play time.
These are locked behind Aether Currents, which players simply need to find and attune. Unfortunately, these are scattered all across each area, so you’ll need to keep your eyes open… or you could just find them here. We have collected a full list of locations for each Aether Current in all of the Stormblood areas, with maps and screenshots to better help you out. Some can be tricky, so we’ll try to better inform you where exactly you’ll need to go.
Note: You will need to complete five Aether-related quests outside of the ten you need to attune. It’s based on how far you are in the area’s story, so keep an eye on the map after story missions to find featured icons (ones with + on the bottom left of the icon).
Finally, we have The Lochs. This almost feels like an underutilized map, at least right now, but there’s some nicely hidden Aether currents. The first one is a little tricky as you will need to follow a heightened path near the first crystal and jump onto a rocky path. It’s the same with 3 as you will need to start from the little pin just north of the number. 4 is located just outside of the destroyed building that you travel to in the first solo instance and 5 is on the bridge up a few steps of stairs. The ninth Aether Current on the map, you will need to travel the path all the way up north, go through the catacombs looking location, and eventually make your way to the western most part of the path (that splits into two, with your target being left on the map). Here, you will need to maneuver down a couple of cliffs and climb onto a narrow gate. Finally, 10 will only become available when you free The Ala Mhigan Quarters. You will need to climb up some stairs and jump over to a platform in order to find the final Aether Current.
