Hardcore Gamer’s Game of the Year Awards 2020

Putting “Best of” next to “2020” can seem like a bit of an oxymoron, but one of the strangest and trying years of many people’s lives has had the silver lining of producing some of the greatest games of the last decade. Owing itself in part to the waning months of a long console generation and the powerhouse of PlayStation not holding anything back to bid adieu to one of their most popular consoles, 2020 boasted a cavalcade of tremendous powerhouse AAA titles and masterful indie games alike.

Leading into 2021, we’ve revealed all of our Best of 2020 awards over eight days. Now that we’ve completed the long — but wonderful — quest, we’ve compiled all eight days of awards into a single hub for your convenience. Below you’ll find all of our awards separated by day and category. Read some or start on Day One to see the complete awards.

We think we’ve put together a darn good list and hope you feel the same. Please note that Cyberpunk 2077 did not meet our eligibility deadline for Best of 2020 Awards, but will qualify for consideration in our 2021 awards alongside any game released after December 9.
