There are hundreds of superheroes and villains in the comic book world and DC Comics is responsible for creating a huge majority of them. They've got all kinds of popular ones such as Batman, Wonder Woman, Joker and plenty more. All of those happen to appear in the upcoming Injustice 2 which pits them against one another in a fight to the end. Then there are some who aren't as well known which means they're on the smaller scale of the things. Despite the title, however, that's not what this is about. We thought it would be fun to pick characters from the DC Universe that happen to be small in stature. Where they show up in Injustice 2 will vary, but let's take a look at the roster of smaller characters! So far none of these have been revealed to actually appear, so let's keep our fingers crossed.

Dex-Starr

There are often some furry friends who become main characters in comic books, this one in particular is a cat. Dex-Starr's origins begin with the 2008 issue, Final Crisis: Rage of The Red Lanterns #1, where he makes his debut. Dex-Starr belonged to a loving household and was always there to comfort his owner. However, crooks broke into the home and Dex-Starr attacked in order to protect his owner. She was killed, however, and Dex-Starr became a stray. Two thugs found the cat and decided to toss him over a bridge for pure amusement. As soon as Dex-Starr was hurled into the air, a Red Lantern ring flew in and sensed his anger. Dex-Starr killed the two and began hunting down his owner's murderer. Overtime, Dex-Starr became loyal to Atrocitus who happens to be a playable character in Injustice 2. Dex-Starr could be fun to play as but his size could prevent that from happening. Housecats don't usually reach a foot in height but Dex-Starr has superpowers and the ability to create energy constructs that could help in some fights. Dex-Starr has appeared in LEGO: Batman 3: Beyond Gotham and popped up on cartoons so he has accumulated quite the following.  Seeing the feisty feline in cutscenes or in a Super Move would be a nice nod for fans to catch.

Krypto

Making his comic book debut back in the 1950s, Krypto was Superman's pet while on Krypton. In order to test their planet's technology and rocket power, Superman's father sent Krypto into space as a test subject. The craft was knocked off course and landed on Earth. Eventually, Superman and Krypto reunited and teamed up to take down crime. Krypto has appeared in a number of different mediums such as a role in the live action series Smallville, a playable character in LEGO Batman and the star of his own animated series. Krypto does have an Injustice connection as he has appeared in the prequel comic of the game. But we want to see him get in on the fun. He has the same superpowers as his owner and can definitely go tooth and nail against various opponents. Put him in a background or cutscene, especially if Superman faces Atrocitus. That way we can pit the dog and cat against one another. He is a small character in size, standing a bit over 2 feet tall. But, remember, it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog! Krypto is a good boy and as such, should be thrown a bone and appear in Injustice 2.

Mister Mxyzptlk

While not often considered a villain, Mister Mxyzptlk is always a nuisance. This impish character was first introduced back in 1944 as a nagging antagonist to Superman. He would play tricks, make jokes, warp reality and bend the rules of physics using magical abilities. The only way to send him back to he came is to get him to say his name backwards or complete some meaningless task for his pure amusement. He measures anywhere from two to three feet high which means such a small guy has been given a huge role for several decades. Mister Mxyzptlk has appeared in numerous cartoons and video games. He has even been featured in the Injustice comic book playing an important part. To get him into Injustice 2, however, could take some work. Since he's able to conjure up something magical, though, it would be no problem to find some sort of loophole allowing himself to pop up in the game. Perhaps he can appear from thin air after completing a certain achievement. Mister Mxyzptlk could make for a great Easter egg fans need to work hard to get...or get rid of!

Bat-Mite

Another impish character to appear in DC Comics happens to be Batman's number one fan! Bat-Mite made his comic book debut back in 1959 and shares many similarities to the previously mentioned Mister Mxyzptlk. He hails from a different dimension and has powers that bends reality. He arrives in Gotham City wearing an over-sized Batsuit of his own just to witness his idol in action. Bat-Mite means well but always seems to goof something up when fighting crime. Standing between two and three feet in height means he surely fits this list. He has shown up in various cartoons and even the aforementioned LEGO Batman series. If there is any room for comic relief in Injustice 2, Bat-Mite could serve that role. Or, since he and our previous character are similar, completing some achievement or mission could be titled after the character. Give him a try, he only wants to help!

The Penguin

By now you're probably fed up with a bunch of nobodies and their cameo appearances. Now, we get into the bigger names on our list. The Penguin has been a huge villain of Batman's since way back in the 1940's. He is a crime boss, strategic mastermind, and expert in various combat weapons. While his reputation is enormous, his actual height fluctuates between appearances. Sometimes he's under five feet tall or just a little over. Because he's considerably bigger than previous entrants, the Penguin would make an excellent competitor for Injustice 2. He makes a brief appearance in the first title but wants to get his hands even dirtier. He can whack people around with his signature umbrella, call upon help from penguin pals, and just use his size and weight to his advantage. His big attack could include throwing a bunch of umbrellas into the air before raining down bullets and explosions upon the opponent. It would be pretty fun getting to see one of Gotham's biggest bosses beat down the Batman.

The Atom

Here you go, a hero that actually has a fighting chance! Ray Palmer, better known as the Atom, made his comic book debut back in 1961. As a physicist, Palmer created a shrinking technology in order to help fight against overpopulation, lack of food and various other problems facing the world. He then uses this to become a superhero and bring justice to evildoers no matter how big a threat he faces. The Atom makes this list because obviously he can shrink his average height down to four feet tall, eight inches high, a couple of centimeters or even microscopic levels. The Atom has made a cameo appearance during a minigame in Injustice: Gods Among Us, but with no real action. His Injustice 2 moves will  involve shrinking down to avoid getting hit and perhaps even entering the opponents body to inflict internal damages. Perhaps a special attack will involve shrinking the enemy and causing massive damage to them while they get a taste of what it's like to be that tiny. Atom's popularity on the hit CW lineup of superhero shows gives him even more of a fanbase. Atom packs a huge atomic punch that is just waiting for an explosive debut.

No matter how small someone may be, they can always put up a fight. This list has been made up of some of the most popular little characters in DC Comics. Comment below with other contenders no matter how big or little that you would like to see enter the fray of Injustice 2.
