Players leveling Necromancers are coming across an vital question about how to summon your golem in Diablo 4. While you would think this should be a very intuitive feature after unlocking it via a class quest... it is leading most players to scratch their heads trying to figure out just how to use their Golem after completing the quest.

The golem can be a very powerful minion and much needed tank for the Necromancer depending on what skill build you are going with. Many skills complement the Summon Golem ability and allow you to excel while your Golem tanks and stuns enemies.

To unlock and be able to use the Golem as a Necromancer, you must have completed the following steps:

  1. Reach Level 25 as a Necromancer
  2. Pick up the white class quest "Call of the Underworld" from Ryovashad
  3. Complete the short Call of the Underworld questline
  4. Assign Summon Golem to your bar

Finding Where Summon Golem Ability Is

So let me guess, you've finished steps 1 to 3 in the above list but still have no idea how to assign the summon golem skill to your bar. You've checked your abilities within your skill tree, you've checked your Book of the Dead and even tried to drag "Golem" onto your bar, to no avail.

Follow these steps to actually put Summon Golem on your bar after you've finished steps 1 to 3 and unlocked it:

  1. Press "S" - This will bring up your available skills menu
  2. Find the "Summon Golem" icon at the very bottom of the list, on the right-hand side
  3. If this is greyed out, you may have chosen to sacrifice the golem in your Book of Dead, check that first.
  4. Drag the Golem Icon onto your skill bar to be able to use it.
Summon Golem how to

This does mean that you must have the Golem Skill taking up one of your active 6 skill slots in order to to have him summoned. If you have him summoned and try to take this skill off your ability bar for another skill, he will immediately despawn.
