Streaming service Twitch.TV will no longer allow users to stream Adult Only titles on their site, the company announced yesterday.

While Adult Only titles are banned, Mature versions of Adult Only titles are permitted for streaming, including the Mature versions of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy.

“Our goal at Twitch is to create a safe, welcoming, inclusive community platform where everyone can feel comfortable and have fun.” Twitch said in a blog post. “From time to time, we update our Rules of Conduct (RoC) in pursuit of this goal and to match emerging issues in the video game industry.”

The majority of games on the Adult Only list are definitely obscure and have been given the rating due violent and sexual content. However, there are some  notorious titles on the list including Manhunt 2 and Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude.

“We made game-specific decisions about which games would and would not be available for broadcast – sometimes due to overtly sexual content, sometimes due to gratuitous violence. Twitch continued. “This is unsustainable and unclear, generating only further confusion among Twitch broadcasters. We would like to make this policy as transparent as possible.”

Twitch also said that while this ESRB rating is U.S only, their policy “extends to versions of these games in all territories.”
