A new video game music arrangement is on Kickstarter, called American Pixels. Presented by composer and music arranger Christopher "Mazedude" Getman, American Pixels is a 14-track remixed tribute album to game music from companies originating in the United States. The full album is written and composed, but the mastering, licensing, and physical CD duplication won't happen without Kickstarter support.

Creator Mazedude was responsible for a 2005 album of the same nature called American Album, and American Pixels is meant to be a step up from that. Mazedude describes the inspiration for American Pixels as another level higher than its predecessor:

What if the project could be transformed into a vehicle that not only honored American composers, but also provided an opportunity for a new kind of videogame remix, a new caliber of genre fusion, and with it, virtuoso performances by talented soloists? Not only could the project live beyond a simple album release, but it could be an eye-opener that brings various facets of the music industry together in one place. That's the ultimate goal of this project, to go beyond me, and to challenge musicians and audiences alike to re-think what it means to arrange music.
