Amplitude Delayed Again, Now Launching in 2016

Harmonix’s Amplitude reboot of its cult classic rhythm game has just been delayed again, this time out of 2015 completely and into January 2016.

The game was originally set for launch in March 2015 before getting delayed to summer, but in an update posted to Kickstarter, Harmonix’s Alex Rigopulos broke the bad news to backers that it would be delayed once again. “Early bird” Kickstarter backers will be able to play the PlayStation 4 version of the game starting in December 2015, but everyone else will have to wait until January. The PlayStation 3 version will launch sometime following the launch of the PS4 version.

Harmonix’s Ryan Lessor attributed the delay to a near-doubling of the song count in the game from 16 to 30, new environments, a “solo campaign, solo free play, 2-4 player ‘free-for-all,’ and an all-new team play mode (1v3, 2v2).”
