Skydance New Media and Lucasfilm Games today announced a collaboration to develop and produce a new Star Wars game.

Amy Hennig is returning to the galaxy far far away after her previous venture was cut short. Her new studio, Skydance New Media, which she co-founded with EA veteran Julian Beak in 2019, is partnering with Lucasfilm Games to develop a new action-adventure title set in the Star Wars universe. No other details about the project were provided.

“I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly,” said Amy Hennig. “I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love."

“We couldn’t be happier to be working with Lucasfilm Games,” said Beak. “We look forward to taking fans on an epic journey with this Star Wars action-adventure title.

This will be Hennig's second attempt at developing a Star Wars title. EA had previously hired her to create an action-adventure Star Wars title within Visceral Games. That project collapsed in 2017 when the publisher shuttered the beloved studio. Hennig would fully part with EA a few months later.

Star Wars is the second of two major projects in the works at the studio. They are also working with Marvel Entertainment on a narrative focused game. Much like this new Star Wars title, no details about the upcoming Marvel game have been announced.
