Capcom today debuted the opening cinematic for Resident Evil: Revelations 2 and as intriguing as it was, it wasn't the graphics or plot that caught our attention, but rather a snippet in the credits. Nestled amongst all the names of people who worked on the game was a familiar one: Shinji Mikami. Now, Mikami was of course a staple at Capcom, creating Resident Evil, before leaving to form Tango Gameworks, which eventually created the very Resident-Evil-y The Evil Within.

So is Mikami back at Capcom? Not so fast.

If Mikami were to return to Capcom, it would likely be to spearhead the franchise again. But what is he listed for in the game's credits? A lowly level designer:

This made us suspicious and digging into the matter revealed that Shinji Mikami also worked on Resident Evil 6:

So is one of the kings of video games moonlighting as a production assistant at Capcom? Sadly, no, it's (somewhat hilariously) actually a different Shinji Mikami. The fact that this Mikami started getting billed around the time the real (sorry, fake Mikami) left Capcom makes us wonder whether or not he was hired simply to troll the legend.

But Capcom wouldn't be that petty...right?
