Following rumors and some heated speculation/concern Assassin's Creed: Syndicate - and its players - would be receiving a whopping 18GB on the day of its release, Ubisoft Montral community developer Gabe Graziani has confirmed though there will be a day one patch, the required download will not be as big as was initially feared. "We actually have two patches that will be available on Day 1," Graziani said, speaking on the series' official sub-reddit, "The first patch (titled 1.10) will be 541MB, the second (titled 1.11) will be 534MB. Not sure where 18GB came from...neither of the patches you will need to download are anywhere near that big."

There's been widespread discussion and, as you would guess, dissatisfaction with the industry's necessity of releasing day one patches, ranging from the brow-raising with Halo 5: Guardians' 9GB patch, to the unfathomable in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5's 7.7GB patch ending up bigger than the actual game.
