Asteroids was initially released by Atari in 1979 and quickly became a hit. Heck, it's still a recognizable name all these years later. Because of the strong brand Atari have decided to revive the game - if in title only.

Asteroids: Outpost is a completely new experience focused on providing players with an online sandbox open world where they must survive as long as possible. Of course, the ever-popular concept of crafting is also included. It's incredibly weird to imagine Asteroids as a game where your goal is to collect resources, create bases, and fight with other players but that's exactly what it has become.

Curious players can expect to find Asteroids: Outpost available on PC at some point in the future.
