BattleCry Studios is now Bethesda Game Studios Austin

Bethesda Game Studios today announced that it has expanded the scope of BattleCry Studios and welcomed it into the Bethesda Game Studios fold.

BattleCry Studios in Austin, Texas has been part of Bethesda Softworks since it was opened in 2012. It’s first project, BattleCry, was never released, and the studio would go on to help id Software with Doom. Well, now the studio is being given a new role as they shed their old title and become Bethesda Game Studios Austin.

“As the vision, scale and ambitions for our games continue to grow, so does Bethesda Game Studios,” said Todd Howard, Game Director and Executive Producer at Bethesda Game Studios. “We’ve had the pleasure to know the talented developers at BattleCry and knew we could do great things together.”

The new studio will assist Bethesda Game Studios with all it’s current and future projects. The team is staffed with industry veterans and will be managed by industry veteran Doug Mellencamp as Studio Director.

“We’re excited to join Bethesda Game Studios and look forward to working together on some of the industry’s most exciting new games,” said Mellencamp. “Austin’s incredible game development scene and talent will also allow us to push our games further than fans have imagined.”

Bethesda Game Studios is best known for its work on the Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises. It is currently unknown what they’re next project is, but we may get some more info at E3 2018. Bethesda Game Studios is based out of Maryland with additional studios operating in Montreal and, now, Austin.
