Yesterday we reported on a rumor that looked made it appear that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was coming to PS4 and Xbox One, and that Bethesda was going to hold a special event on January 14 to announce the game.  However, it looks like this is all false thanks to an error and a hoax.

Pete Hines, VP of Development over at Bethesda has taken to Twitter to clear up the issue.  "We have been working on the CMS that runs our sites. A bug caused platforms that don't exist to show up for some games Sorry for confusion."  The site appears to be working now.  Skyrim is no longer listed for PS4 or Xbox One.

As for the 'announcement,' it looks like that was merely just a hoax from fans.  Bethesda Softworks have found themselves dealing with a lot of hoaxes the past few months, though they all pertained to Fallout 4.

While it would have been interesting to see The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in all its glory on PS4 and Xbox One, I'm actually happier it isn't coming.  All of Bethesda's studios are hard at work on developing new games and that is much more exciting than revisiting a two year old title.
