We’ve already gone on the record saying that Biomutant is indeed one of our most anticipated games of 2018. And while a release during this year is still up in the air, THQ Nordic are still keeping us salivating for the game with a new gameplay trailer for Gamescom. You can check out the new video below, which still paints an impressive take on a post-apocalyptic mutant world.
The new clip doesn’t say much, instead rightly preferring to let Biomutant’s action do the talking. It practically comes off as checklist of several insane things we definitely want in an open-world action RPG like this. Bubbles to be rode like giant hamster balls? Check. Launching enemies into the air on rockets via well-placed attacks? Check. Giant mechs? Check. Climbing up the sides of hot air balloons? Check. Actually pounding foes into the ground via kung fu action? Check. Ridiculously cute critters that can can also craft weaponry? Check, check, and double check.
None of this even dips into the more detailed parts of the game, such as being able to pick mutations for your customizable critter. But as a showcase of the game’s uniquely-styled world and a taste of all the fun and insane things that you can do in it, it works perfectly. Despite any aforementioned issues, Biomutant still has a 2018 release window listed, so PC, PS4, and XB1 owners had best keep on alert for this potential sleeper hit if it still makes it out this year.
