It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new adventure game from Pendulo Studios, the folks who gave us the Runaway and Yesterday games. But with help from YS Interactive and publishers Microids, it looks like they’re coming back in a big way with Blacksad: Under the Skin. Based on the series of graphic novels, Blacksad how has its first story trailer and a September release date, the latter of which you can check out below. Aside from suggesting a promising adventure game, fans also get to hear the first official voice of protagonist John Blacksad, which should be a treat.
Set in the 1950s and starring a cast of anthropomorphic animals, the story revolves around the disappearance of a rising boxing star, gone missing right before a big fight. Blacksad is hired to find out what happened and retrieve the boxer, but like any good detective story from the era, things turn complicated quickly. And Blacksad may need your help in making a few tough decisions along the way, which can indeed affect the outcome of things.
Aside from the trailer and release date, Microid also revealed details about a Collector’s Edition of Blacksad. Aside from the game itself, it also includes an art book and a resin statue of our protagonist. You can view the first glimpse of it below the trailer. Blacksad: Under the Skin is set for a September 26 release on all major platforms, and may be one to look out for.
