When a Bloodborne easter egg was discovered in From Software’s VR game, Deracine, many fans took it as an indication that a sequel is in the works. However, it seems that’s not the case. Japanese gaming website 4Gamer recently conducted an interview with From Software president Hidetaka Miyazaki, wherein they touched upon the nature of said Easter egg among other things.

When the interviewer mentioned the Easter egg and asked about whether or not fans were right, Miyazaki-san apologized for causing them to speculate. It seems it really is just a nod to Bloodborne, nothing more and nothing less. Miyazaki-san even went so far as to say that its inclusion may have been "overkill" on the part of From Software; they just really wanted to reference it.

Of course, there may come a day when Bloodborne fans will finally get the sequel they sorely desire. For now though, they’ll at least have to wait until after Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is out before hearing anything either way.
