Burnout Paradise Remastered is coming to current-gen consoles without the current-gen baggage of microtransactions.

Yesterday, EA made Burnout Paradise Remastered official for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The enhanced version of the PS3 and Xbox 360-era racing game includes all previously released DLC, spruced up graphics, and 4K/60fps options for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. However, a store listing began circulating suggestion that the remaster would also include microtransactions. After a bit of furor, EA has revealed that this listing was an error.

EA and Ghost Games' Ben Walke took to Twitter to assure fans that the remaster will not have any form of microtransactions:

As a remaster of an old game, it is common practice to include all previously released DLC with the game. It's good to see EA following other publisher's paths and not Activision's. Last year, Activision created quite the firestorm for adding microtransactions toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. Furthermore, they charged an additional $14.99 for the game's sole map pack, which was more expensive than what they charged back in 2007. It's a really good thing EA is not going down this route, especially considering how much trouble they got into last year over Star Wars Battlefront II.

Burnout Paradise Remastered is out March 16 on PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version will launch sometime after the console versions.
