Those hoping Call of Duty would shed the last-generation consoles with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 are about to be disappointed. Activision has confirmed that the game will be launching on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Activision is bringing in Beenox and Mercenary Technology to develop the last-gen ports allowing Treyarch to focus on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. PS3 and Xbox 360 players will be able to enjoy the campaign, multiplayer, and zombies, but there will be differences between these versions and the current-gen versions. For one, the game will be limited to two-player co-op, instead of the four-player co-op on current-gen. The upcoming beta will only be available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Activision has also explicitly stated that there are no plans for a Wii U version.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is out November 6 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. The game will be shown off at E3 2015, which takes place June 16-18.
