Treyarch today announced the start date for the Call of Duty: Blackout beta on PS4.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 may not have a campaign, but it is getting a battle royale mode. Blackout is the name of the mode, and excited players won't have to wait long to try it out. A Blackout beta takes place in September, and Treyarch finally announced the exact date it'll kick off.

Taking to Twitter, Treyarch confirmed the Blackout beta kicks off September 10 on PS4. No word yet on how long it will run and when it'll come to Xbox One and PC.

Details on Blackout have been scarce since it was announced back in May. We know the mode will involve vehicles, characters from all Black Ops games, and a large map that takes inspiration from the franchise's most iconic locations. Details like the player count, total map size, and vehicles available remain a mystery.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is out October 12 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Blackout comes with the game.
