Capcom Sends Out Invites to Resident Evil Ambassadors to Test New Game

Capcom’s testing a new game early in development, though what it is remains a mystery.

Fans hoping to get a glimpse of the next Resident Evil game at this year’s E3 were left disappointed. Despite rumors of a Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil 8 circulating about, neither materialized at the show. Still, there is hope that one or the other might show up eventually, and maybe sooner than later.

Invitations to test a game currently in development are now in the hands of U.S. based Resident Evil Ambassadors. Biohaze managed to get their hands on an invitation, which indicates the tests will take place in Los Angeles and New York in September. As expected, the invite doesn’t reveal what game Capcom is testing. In fact, it doesn’t mention if the game is even a Resident Evil title. Still, we’d be willing to bet that those selected will get to see whatever Resident Evil game is next in Capcom’s docket.

Resident Evil 2, the latest release in the franchise, came out back in January on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A remake of the PS1 classic, Resident Evil 2 released to critical acclaim. Meanwhile, the last new entry in the series, came out January 2018 to similar critical praise.

We’ll let you know should Capcom make any announcements regarding the Resident Evil franchise.
