Following on from Rocket League developer Psyonix voicing support for Xbox-PlayStation cross-play, CD Projekt Red -- currently promoting their new Witcher-based card game, Gwent -- have joined in the discussion by stating their own interest and subsequent support, for a multi-console network. Speaking to IGN, the developer claim they have a system in place that will provide a solution for Xbox & PlayStation networks to communicate; CD Projekt CEO Marcin Iwiński even going as far as to state: "we are keeping our fingers crossed for Rocket League paving the way."

"We...would love to add Sony’s platform to cross-play at the start of open beta," Iwiński continues. "All we need is a green light from Sony." Microsoft have previously alluded to possible support for cross-play between consoles, though Sony meanwhile remain tight-lipped on whether they too would allow this function to go ahead. Rocket League was previously announced earlier in the year to be one of the first titles that would support cross-play between Xbox & PC with similarly hopeful hints to a possible link-up with PS4 consoles as well. Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will enter open beta on Xbox & PC later this year.
