Japanese VA agency Aoni Production announced today that Chikao Ohtsuka died of Ischemic Heart Disorder yesterday. He was 85 years old.

Chikao Ohtsuka was a long-time voice actor in the gaming world, but is best known for his work as the Japanese voice actor for Dr. Eggman in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise from Sonic Adventure (1999) up until his death.

Ohtsuka was also known for his work as Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Master Xehanort in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, and Wario in WarioWare: Mega Microgame$. He was also a prolific voice actor in anime like Hellsing, One Piece, and Lupin the Third. His son, Akio Ohtsuka, is also a Japanese gaming VA.
