Looks like the folks over at Nippon Ichi Software aren't feeling too optimistic about the future of their flagship Disgaea franchise and their company overall. Sohei Niikawa of Nippon Ichi left a rather discerning message for his fans, in particular the PlayStation 4 user-base who will either make or break Disgaea.

His comment implies that a lot is riding on the commercial success of the upcoming Disgaea 5, and should it fail, could mean the end of the series and the company altogether. He also mentions some concern regarding Bloodborne launching the same day as Disgaea 5. This is what Sohei had to say:

"If Disgaea 5 doesn't sell as planned then we might not still be in business the year after. Even though Bloodborne is now releasing the same day, we really hope people will pick up both titles at once."
