Creature-Collecting MMO Temtem Enters Early Access in January

It can’t be denied that Pokémon Sword and Shield has been a massive sales success, but the latest entry has left some players wishing for more from a new Pokémon game. For example, while the raids in the Wild Area are a good start, there are those who still wish for deeper online gameplay. And as if to answer those wishes, it has now been revealed that Spanish developers Crema will be launching their MMO monster-catching game Temtem into Early Access next month. Having been a darling on Kickstarter last year, hopes are high for the indie competitor for the throne, so it should be interesting to see how it fares.

If you’re unfamiliar with Temtem, then the news happens to also come with a three-minute gameplay overview to let you know more about it, as seen below. We get a good look at some of the various Temtem to encounter and catch, a peek at the game’s breeding system, glimpses of the Airborne Archipelago world that the game takes place in, customization options, and more. The Early Access version will have a twenty-hour campaign (that can be enjoyed solo or online), over seventy-five Temtem, and three different islands to explore. And aside from new features, the final version aims to have fifty percent more story content, three more islands, and over one hundred and sixty Temtem. Quite ambitious, to say the least.

Temtem will arrive in Early Access for the PC on January 21 with some publishing assistance from Humble Bundle, and will arrive on consoles at a later date. And if you really can’t wait to catch these clever and cute critters, you can sign up for the pre-release stress tests at the game’s official site.
