Fresh off the release of a new trailer, details of Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, the new-gen re-release of Dark Souls II, have been steadily leaking out. And boy, is there a lot on the plate.

Scholar of the First Sin will appear in glorious 1080p/60fps across all three proposed platforms (Xbox One, PS4, and PC). The PC version, as claimed by associate global producer Daniel Markov, will be better-looking than the player-designed graphical mods. Lighting effects are noticeably more striking in the new-gen version.

The game is getting a huge overhaul as far as enemy and item placement as well, meaning that layouts will be different than in the original release. New NPC's like the Dark Phantom (which can appear anywhere during online play) will also keep veterans on edge. As far as difficulty, Markov kept things cryptic:

It's hard to say if it's more or less difficult. It's different.

Of course, you get all the DLC from Dark Souls II packed in as well. Check out Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 7 and don't forget to check out our review of the original Dark Souls II too.
