A new Dead Island game may be on its way, as a game titled "Dead Island: Retro Revenge" was recently rated by the Australian Government.

The game was rated M for its bloody violence and its online interactivity. Retro Revenge is supposedly being developed by a studio called Empty Clip Studios and produced by Deep Silver. While the Deep Silver production company has always financed the Dead Island franchise, Empty Clip Studios is the newest in a line of developers to work on the game. Techland, now the creators of Dying Light, gave the franchise its start, Fatshark made Escape Dead Island and Yager Development and Stunlock studio both worked on Dead Island games, but were either cancelled or taken away from them.

The last Dead Island game to come out was Escape Dead Island back in 2014 and it was announced that a full-on Dead Island 2 was in the works from Yager Development, but Deep Silver took them off the project.

It's interesting to see another new anthology game from Dead Island coming out of the shadows when their next mainline game is seemingly having so many issues. So what do you think about all this? And what could "Retro Revenge" mean? Let us know in the comments.
