Forza 5 to Get Some Digital Discounts Over the Weekend

Forza 5 has received a lot criticism for changing how cars are earned and awarded to players since its launch nearly one week ago. While Turn 10 won’t be bringing back a car with each level you reach, they will be offering up a big savings and some added value for purchases. The official site features an update talking about the negative feedback in a fairly mature way – not mentioning it by name, but it’s pretty clear that they’ve heard people are a bit pissed. To remedy that, starting Friday November 29, a 50% discount will be applied to every car purchased in the game with either in-game credits or purchased tokens.  It runs from Friday until Sunday December 1. Forza 5 VIP members will now get the 2013 Lotus E21 car, and anyone who already bought that car will get the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO.

Anyone who has the LaFerrari Car Pack or the Forza 5 Car Pass will get the 2013 LaFerrari right in their garage. These gifts are brought up as taking up to one full day of in-game time to unlock, which gives you an idea of just why people are angry about the new car earning setup. Turn 10 is going to be amending things a bit by increasing the credit payout to Forza players via Forza Rewards, and LE game owners will now be able to download any on-disc game at no charge to make up for the 1,250 tokens included not being enough to buy any car in the game.  While there’s still some definite work to be done to make things like they were in past games – if it’s even possible to do that with how the infrastructure is in this game, it is great to see Turn 10 at least do what they can right now to make people happy.
