It’s about time the North American Playstation Plus caught up with its European counterpart as it’s announced today that Platinum Games’ Vanquish will be available for free to anyone who owns a Playstation+ membership. For anyone who isn’t part of the $50 a year program, the game will be priced at $19.99. Additionally, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X for the PSP and Dust 514 Starter Pack will be available at no cost ($9.99 regular), along with 20% off Urban Trail Freestyle.

For the last year we’ve been behind the European Playstation+ as, while we’ve received some great games such as Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition and Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, they were treated to Batman: Arkham City, Red Dead Redemption, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Sleeping Dogs, and many more. It’s the perfect time to give Vanquish away as Platinum Games’ Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be out on the same day.
