December 17 Release Date Announced For Wattam

Well, it’s been five years in the making, but Keita Takahashi’s latest quirky adventure about friendship and discovery, Wattam, finally has a concrete release date. We’ve raved about how the game is pure joy in the past, but in just a month from now, we’ll finally get to see all of that joy in its full form. Centering around a lone mayor who creates dozens of new friends and reunites with others, several of whom have unique abilities that you can try out, the game presents itself as having a colorful, insane playground.

And for a brief glimpse into the kind of insanity one can expect, we have the announcement trailer accompanying this news, which you can check out below. Basically, if you’ve ever wanted to see a rain of eggplants, pineapples, gift-wrapped presents, and a giant golden turd, well, now your weird demands have been met. Wattam comes out on December 17 for the Epic Games Store and PS4 courtesy of Funomena and publishers Annapurna Interactive, and should indeed make for quite the gleefully bizarre early Christmas present.
