Bungie has finally announced Destiny 2.

Finally, after much teasing and a leak last week, Bungie has finally confirmed the existence of Destiny 2. The sequel to the hit 2014 game, Destiny 2 is set to usher in a whole new era for the franchise. The company made the announcement on Twitter.

No additional information was given, but the image does tell us a lot. The Last City is burning, and the Traveler itself appears to be on fire. Initial reports suggested that The Last City would be attacked at some point in the sequel. The image confirms this. Bungie should be providing more information real soon.

Destiny 2 is expected to launch September 8 in Europe on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It is unknown if that will be a worldwide release date, or if it'll hit North America Tuesday, September 5.
