Quantic Dream signed off 2018 in style after the French studio teased that it has “some great news” planned for its fans.

The Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls developer took to Twitter to bid farewell to the year, saying that the studio “shall be back soon.”

Fans have already begun to speculate on what the news could be, with some believing that DLC could be coming to Quantic Dream’s 2018 critically acclaimed title.

“DLC or sequel about Hank and Connor being buddy cops, investigating crimes and solving mysteries, please?!” one user replied.

Another tweeted: “A Detroit DLC that could clarify events before the main story (like playing with some side characters like Ralph, Simon, North) and after the gameplay -- the user would choose one of the stories they've played to continue the journey. Just sayin'.”

A third added: “Would be happy with a Detroit: Become Human sequel!”

Quantic Dream founder and studio head David Cage revealed in August that while nothing had officially been announced, he did not rule out the possibility of new content coming to the adventure title.

During a Reddit AMA last year, the Detroit writer and director said that a sequel could happen.

“We will work on a sequel if we feel we have ideas, passion and excitement to do it, and if we feel we have something more to say about this world,” he explained.

“We have a lot of respect for our fans, and we never wanted to do sequels just for the sake of making easy money.

“We are driven by passion more than anything, although it is not always something reasonable... but we enjoyed working on Detroit a lot, and there are many exciting stories that could be told in this world for sure.”

Detroit was released last year for PlayStation 4 and has sold over two million copies worldwide, becoming the fastest-selling title in the studio’s history.

Hardcore Gamer’s review for Quantic Dream’s latest title said that it has “an endearing story that verges on the profound, diving deep into the nature of humanity itself.”
