Dice Admits there’s a Balance Problem in Star Wars: Battlefront

Dice has admitted that the Walker Assault mode has a huge balance problem. Throughout the course of the beta, players quickly figured out that the Rebels have a hard time taking out the Imperial AT-ATs, giving Imperials the victory nearly every time. Well, Dice knows about this, and is working on a fix.

A fan asked community manager Sledgehammer70 why he had never won as the Rebels. He assumed he sucked, but that couldn’t farther from the case. Sledgehammer admitted that it was a balancing issue.

Lead multiplayer designer Dennis Brännvall also jumped in. Acknowledging the problems, Brännvall promised that Dice is working on numerous changes based on beta feedback and data.

The Star Wars: Battlefront beta ran from October 8-13 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Walker Assault, which was one of two modes in the beta, involves Imperials guiding to AT-ATs towards a Rebel base. The Rebels have to stop them by activating uplinks and summoning Y-Wings. These Y-Wings then drop a charge on the AT-ATs, leaving them vulnerable for a short amount of time. This is one of nine multiplayer modes that launch with Star Wars: Battlefront on November 17 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
