The Disney renaissance of the '90s didn't just apply to its movies, but also its video games. While games like Castle of Illusion were top-shelf, it was the 1-2 punch of Aladdin on the Genesis and The Lion King for both the SNES and Genesis that really showed just how good a licensed game could be in an era where they were usually complete garbage. The industry was filled with endless beat-em-ups and low-rent platformers, and when paired up with Virgin Interactive, Disney used its animation team to help craft the visual style of the games and it resulted in two games that look fantastic even today.

The animation is silky smooth and the art style is timeless. The Genesis version of Aladdin featured here has been given some improvements with not only a Final Cut version but also a prototype version playable. Portable renditions of both Aladdin and The Lion King are featured as well - making this a great value. This all-encompassing collection for the licenses (barring the SNES version of Aladdin) can be yours on all consoles physically or digitally, with Best Buy getting a special edition of the Switch version that can either have a SNES-inspired or Genesis-inspired case alongside new physical content. PC users can get the game on Steam or completely DRM-free for the same price at GOG. If you have all consoles, then the Switch version is probably the one to buy since you can enjoy it anywhere. PC users might as well get it on GOG to enjoy it without any DRM and you can still launch it from Steam if you prefer.
