Doom Eternal’s 6.66 Update Features Horde Mode, Out Next Week

id Software’s latest demon-slaying FPS has received plenty of post-launch support since its release last year, including the two-part The Ancient Gods DLC and enhancements for players playing on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

However, all of the free updates up to this point will pale in comparison to next week’s fittingly titled 6.66 update, which arrives on October 26 and will be Doom Eternal’s “biggest free update yet.” It’s main addition will be a new Horde Mode, which was teased back in July as a replacement for the promised Invasion Mode and features prominently in the teaser below. The 6.66 update will also include “Battlemode 2.0 with a new arena and streak-based rewards, two new Master Levels, and more”, with the full list of additions to be revealed next week alongside the patch’s release.
