Following close behind the acclaimed release of the 2018 follow-up to their similarly-beloved 2013 action-infused Metroidvania Guacamelee! developer Drinkbox Studios have today announced that they plan to bring both games to Nintendo Switch -- topping this all off with the greater surprise that the first game is in fact available right now on the Switch eShop. The Super Turbo Championship Edition (as it's dubbed) of Guacamelee! comes with the base game plus all additional post-launch content released for other platforms.

Its sequel, Guacamelee! 2, is planned for release shortly thereafter sometime this December, making it roughly four months since it originally released in August for PS4 & PC. Needless to say, Drinkbox's recognisably colorful and vibrantly illustrative aesthetic -- featured in both the original Guacamelee! as well as the studio's other acclaimed IP, Severed -- complete with Mexican culture and folklore inspiration is prevalent once again here, though be sure to catch up on our review if you're still unsure on how the sequel fairs.
