Omega Force's anticipated eighth iteration (technically there's more) into the Dynasty Warriors franchise has finally been confirmed for the West. Tecmo Koei has officially announced that the game will be available in North America on July 16 and in Europe on July 12. Originally hitting Japan back on February 28 under the name Shin Sangoku Musou 7, this hack and slash title includes more than 70 playable characters plus "What if?" scenarios that modify different historical events.

As a fan of East Asian history, it excites me that Tecmo Koei continues to bring their titles over. Sure, the Dynasty Warriors games can be fairly repetitive, but adapting historical figures and events into a video game format is something that should be done more often. Dynasty Warriors 8 will be available for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
