During today's special Smash Bros. presentation, Nintendo officially revealed Fire Emblem's Roy and Street Fighter's Ryu as the latest additions to the brawler's expansive roster. Neither announcement came as much of a surprise, of course, due to an unprecedented leak yesterday that saw actual footage of the fighters in action obtained from an update to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U that went up early.

Roy returns after missing Super Smash Bros. brawl., and is significantly more powerful than he was in Melee. His appearance has also been updated to look "more in line with the times". Ryu, on the other hand, has been styled after his appearance in Street Fighter II. He will have light, medium, and heavy variations of all of his moves, unleashed depending on how long you hold the button, and will feature all sorts of attacks Street Fighter fans will be well familiar with. Ryu will also feature two unique Final Smash attacks, a first for the Super Smash Bros. series.

Nintendo also announced a Suzaku Castle stage will be available in a bundle with Ryu. It's set on the rooftop of the titular castle, and features music straight out of Street Fighter II.

Roy will be available today for $3.99 on Wii U or 3DS separately, or for $4.99 as a bundle. Ryu will be also be available today with the Suzaku Castle stage for $5.99 on Wii U or $4.99 on 3DS, or $6.99 as a bundle.
