E3 may have come and gone, and while we have already given out our own awards for the best games of this year’s biggest gaming convention, the Game Critics Awards have just been revealed.
Capcom’s remake of the 1998 horror classic Resident Evil 2 took the Best of Show award, after a lengthy absence since the game’s announcement several years ago. Surprisingly, the third-person shooter failed to capture any other award, but a few other titles did manage to acquire multiple honors, including Insomniac’s Spider-Man receiving Best Console Game and Best Action/Adventure Game, and Bioware’s Anthem earning Best PC Game and Best Action Game. Plus, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima each received Special Commendations, having not been eligible for the above awards since they were not playable.
