EA has today released their Q2 FY15 financial results and remains the number one publisher on PS4 and Xbox One consoles in the west, thanks to titles like FIFA 15, NHL 15, Madden NFL 15, EA Sports UFC, Titanfall, Battlefield 4 and FIFA 14. Throughout the quarter, EA’s players logged more than 1.9 billion hours of gameplay on console and PC, including 89 million games of Madden NFL 15 (up 48% year-over-year). On the mobile side of things, EA’s sports games averaged more than 40 million monthly active users thanks to Madden NFL Mobile and FIFA Ultimate Team Mobile, up 250% year-over-year. Console games still represent double the amount of revenue as mobile, however.
Net revenue for EA’s FIFA, Madden NFL and Hockey Ultimate Team services continued to grow, collectively up 96% year-over-year. The quarter also marked a major shift from last-gen to current-gen, with the PS4 and Xbox One now accounting for the majority of the publisher’s revenue.
