In a press release by EA Sports VP and GM of Golf Daryl Holt, new information was revealed about the upcoming iteration of EA’s long running golf franchise. To go along with a single comparison image of the next generation and current generation versions of the game, EA revealed that upcoming PGA Tour games will no longer feature Tiger Woods’ name in the title.
The split was apparently a mutual decision, and Holt stressed the fact that they still have a strong exclusive partnership with the PGA with the intent of creating groundbreaking golf titles. Holt states that the development team is working on a new approach and intends to leverage technology from across EA to bring the game to next generation systems as well as mobile platforms.
With no announcement of a release date, we’ll just have to wait for more information.
