Zachtronics’ new visual novel, Eliza, is coming to the Nintendo Switch later this week. Soon fans will be able to take this tale of AI-driven psychotherapy on the go and spend just that much more time trying to decide if counseling really is always the best option when the entity delivering it isn’t even human.
In Eliza, players look at the impact of the counseling app from multiple perspectives. Everyone has an opinion on the supposedly revolutionary app. Users see both help and hazard in it, while the developers struggle with the inevitable questions raised by the existence of an AI therapist. “What are the implications if the AI truly can understand its patients,” for example.
Eliza launches for the Nintendo Switch on October 15 and is already available on PC via Steam.
