Epic Games has clarified it’s plans for Rocket League on Steam.
Yesterday, Epic Games and Psyonix dropped quite the bombshell announcement. Epic revealed they had acquired the Rocket League developer. At the time, all we knew was that the eSports title would launch on Epic Games Store at some point in the coming months. What would happen to the game on Steam was unknown. Now, we have some idea about what’s going on.
In a statement sent to USGamer, Epic Games clarified that they’ll continue selling the game on Steam and have not announced plans to pull the game. New players can still buy the game on Steam, and that long-term plans will be announced eventually. So, while the game remains on the Steam store now, those long-term plans could eventually lead to it being pulled.
At least those on Steam can rest assured that the game they own will continue to receive updates. The Epic spokesperson confirmed they’ll continue to support the game.
Rocket League is available now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
