EVO 2018 is less than six months away, as the biggest names in fighting games get set to face off once again starting on August 3 in Las Vegas.

Earlier tonight in a livestream on Twitch, EVO co-founder Joey Cuellar detailed the eight fighting games that will be a part of this year’s tournament, and unlike in years past, the lineup primarily consists of titles that were or will have been released within the past year and a half prior to the tournament. With the exception of the returning Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, each of the remaining six titles, Tekken 7, Street Fighter V Arcade Edition, Injustice 2, and the Arc System Works trio of Dragon Ball FighterZ, Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, and the unreleased BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will have been released during 2017 or 2018, marking a major shift towards newly released titles. In addition, EVO 2018 marks only the second time in the tournament’s 22 year history that a Marvel vs. Capcom title will not be a part of the tournament’s lineup, despite Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite having been released just last year. Cuellar also clarified that the five fighting games that will be featured during finals day on Sunday are Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tekken 7, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.
