Living the natural life is a wonderful thing for those who can handle it, but there's a reason us tool-using monkeys have moved out of the wilds.  Living off the land is hard, dangerous, and highly inefficient, so we banded together to not only make communities that spread the work around but also came up with the necessary devices to automate production.  Cutting down a tree is all well and good, but maybe hand-carving each board is a bit much.  Better to let the sawmill take over the job, turning the backbreaking work of hours into an easy few seconds.  And as long as automation is happening it's probably easier to make a giant conveyor to carry the logs from forest to mill, and then another conveyor from mill to storehouse.  Ore can be processed in a similar fashion, and of course a railway system is a great way to tie the multiple resource deposits scattered throughout the world together.  Build big and efficient and soon you've got a happy little Factory Town working to keep its people happy.

Factory Town is a more relaxed automation game than the standard type, with no enemies to hold back or starvation to decimate the population.  The object is to create not just a town or an efficient automation pipeline but a combination of the two, and importantly one that's fun to build and maintain.  The game has had a good and very successful Early Access run but, as of today, it's time to put a bow on that stage of Factory Town's life and release it into the world as the 1.0 version.  That doesn't mean Factory Town is done, of course, because while everything is in place to earn that 1.0 designation there are still more things that could be added, and the game has been successful enough to allow work to continue so there's no reason to stop now.

Factory Town released today on Steam with a celebratory 50% off discount.  There's no new trailer to go with the release so the Early Access one will have to do, if you want to take a look.  A lot has changed and been completely reworked since then, but for overall flavor it's still a good representation of busy automated community you can build.
