Last week, Mediatonic teased a big announcement for Fall Guys today, one that would apparently receive its own special livestream hosted by Xavier Woods and Elle Osili-Wood. So while the buildup to this announcement involved a tease of the upcoming season, the fact that this announcement would be getting its own event suggested that there would be something bigger than just the reveal of a new season, or the launches of the announced Xbox and Switch versions. Sure enough, the stream kicked off with a rather big reveal, namely that Fall Guys would be going free-to-play starting next month as seen in the announcement trailer below.

Unsurprisingly for Fall Guys, the announcement gave with the reveal of a lot of freebies to earn. Those who pre-register for the new free-to-play version of Fall Guys over at the game's official site will receive new costume nameplates, emotes, and more based on how many people register. Over on the Xbox, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will receive one free costume a month for the first three months. Meanwhile, the Legacy Pass for the game's current players (those who log in before June 21) will consist of three exclusive costumes, a nickname, nameplate, and free access to the first Premium Season Pass.

Yes, there's a Premium Season Pass now in addition to the current free Season Pass, which will be a "supercharged" version of the regular Season Pass, now consisting of a hundred tiers of rewards as opposed to fifty, including the ability to unlock the next Season Pass if you max it out. The free Season Pass that has accompanied every season will still remain in place, with the Premium Season Pass to be purchased via a new currency called Show-Bucks, though exact prices for the Show-Bucks or Premium Season Pass were not revealed. Meanwhile, the in-game economy is changing a bit, as the in-game store will only take Kudos now as opposed to some items only being available with Crowns, and Crowns can now instead be converted to Kudos.

A few more details about Season 7 (or the new Season 1, as it will now be called to mark the new era) were revealed, with the theme being that of a huge stadium that brings the beans together for massive sporting events, tying into the new platforms and cross-play additions. The new rounds included will get pretty insane from the looks of it, including races with speed arches, exploding balls that can destroy the ground, and volleyball games. Collaborations this season will include costume Ezio from the Assassin's Creed games, Mecha-Godzilla, Mothra, and Ghidorah from the Godzilla franchise, and the first-ever levels based around other IPs, although no other information was provided beyond that.

The presentation ended with one more pretty big addition, though, albeit one that won't be ready for a while: A level editor. Yes, have you wanted a version of Slime Climb that was somehow longer and trickier? Well, it will be yours to craft now. You can catch a glimpse of this new feature, along with further details on the other announcements, in the stream seen above, and can also learn more at the official site. Fall Guys' free-to-play launch across all platforms (including Xbox platforms, PS5, Switch, and its official move to the Epic Games Store, with existing Steam players still being able to play via the platform) and begin its new season/era on June 21, so prepare to hop back in then.
