The next Far Cry game has leaked ahead of its official reveal at The Game Awards.

Ubisoft has a habit of their announcements leaking early (Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Origins, and Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle all leaked early). It's something that happens so frequently that it shouldn't be surprising that it happened again. Yesterday, Ubisoft announced that the next Far Cry game would be revealed at The Game Awards. Today, following a leak, we know what that game is.

SPOILER ALERT! Do not look beyond this image if you haven't beaten Far Cry 5 yet.

Far Cry New Dawn's box art leaked onto the internet today. It features two women holding a gun and a makeshift cross bow with a man chained to a car in the background. Do note that the character tied to the car is not Joseph Seed, the antagonist of Far Cry 5. The man lacks the chest tattoos Joseph sports.

Based on the image and the teaser trailer, New Dawn appears to be a direct continuation of Far Cry 5's nuclear ending. In short, a nuclear bomb goes off and decimates Hope County. New Dawn, presumably, deals with the aftermath of that explosion. Due to the landscape, church, and destroyed silo in the art, it's likely the game once again takes place in Hope County, Montana.

Far Cry New Dawn will launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Be sure to tune into The Game Awards at 8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT for more details.
