Final Fantasy VII fans will be pleased to know that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn's latest patch has been released. Why those specific fans would be happy you might ask? Because it includes a newly realized version of the Golden Saucer.

As many know, the Golden Saucer was quite possibly the only place in Final Fantasy VII's world that had any sort of enjoyment. Mind you, there was a rash case of violence at one point during the story, but it was a theme park where players could go to play mini-games and win prizes. That's exactly what it's like in Final Fantasy XIV.

Players will be able to pick up a quest in Ul'dah where they will be brought to the Cactuar themed mini-city. Here, players will be able to participate in multiple time sensitive mini-games, from testing their strength to shooting hoops. The two most notable additions, though, are racing chocobos and playing Triple Triad against other players. The racing chocobos portion is pretty self-explanatory, but Triple Triad is a card game from Final Fantasy VIII that makes it long awaited return.

Why Final Fantasy XIV players should care is that, not only can you collect a bevy of cards, but you can unlock event and class-specific equipment -- not to mention it's a nice break from all the dungeon grinding and raiding. Final Fantasy XIV's 2.51 patch is available right now on PS4, PS3 and PC. Before the End Part II will be released sometime in March with the full-on 3.0 expansion, Heavensward, landing sometime in spring.
