If you've been playing Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood through early access over the last few days, you may have noticed things have been a bit rocky. Whether it's the instance congestion, the long queues or just network issues, Stormblood has not had a particularly solid launch.

Even last night, if you were trying to play the game prior to the maintenance, you may have noticed a lot of people dealing with getting kicked back to the main menu. Well, apparently there's a reason for this: Square Enix's servers have been under frequent DDoS attacks from an unknown third-party.

Square Enix has posted a news post stating that they're currently working on the problem to hopefully get things smoothed out and rolling much better.

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood officially launched for the masses yesterday, with those who pre-ordered the game given access on June 16.
