The long awaited patch has finally arrived. It has been talked about since Shadowbringers was announced, but Square Enix's implementation of an additional Data Center is finally complete. You may have noticed that Final Fantasy XIV was down for a staggering 24 hours last night, it was because they were implementing this data center and moving over all the servers that were going with it.

Prior to this patch, North America only had the Primal and Aether Data Centers, but now there is Crystal  that houses handpicked servers. This coincides with our European players who received their split early this month, which saw their Data Center split into two. Whether or not this is good for the population is still up for debate, but it should be interesting to see how thing shake up leading up to Shadowbringers.

In addition, you're now able to visit any of the servers in your Data Center with ease. There are some restrictions, such as not being able to use your retainers, and gathering nodes are unavailable, among various other things, but most of your actions can still aid in your progress. Due to the new Data Center, you're able to able to switch servers free of charge  for the next two weeks (originally around $20 prior), with all now being open. Come join us in Malboro!

Finally, there have been some small changes to the game itself, but just some elements that were meant to eventually happen. For example the The Orbonne Monastery no longer has a restriction on equipment rolls and the number of coins you can obtain per week. Scaevan Ester, which was previously obtained through Datalogs of Omega's Alphascape V3.0 Extreme, can now be purchased with the three different coins obtained from each of the three 24-player raids. Alphascape crystalloids weekly restriction has been removed, so you can get your 390 weapon very fast now, and various other changes to PVP and Eureka Pagos.

There should be one more patch, 4.58, just before Shadowbringers hits July 2 (or June 28 for early access users).
