Team Ninja today dropped the first gameplay trailer for Nioh 2, and announced a closed beta for the game.
PlayStation, Koei Tecmo, and Team Ninja excited a lot of players when they announced Nioh 2 at E3 2018. The short teaser confirmed a sequel to the 2017 hit. Nearly a year later, we finally get a look at some gameplay.
The gameplay trailer showcases much of the same brutal gameplay players expect from a proper sequel. Similar to the original game, players wield a wide variety of weapons as they attempt to defeat enemy Yokai and cleanse their corruption. The trailer showcases a handful of story elements, and the reveal of a new female protagonist. Team Ninja also confirmed that a closed beta for Nioh 2 takes place May 24-June 2. The beta is invite-only with players randomly chosen to participate.
Some PS4 users are invited to take part in the Nioh 2 closed alpha to help gather feedback for the development. To ensure the team can manage the feedback, there are no plans to expand the alpha at the moment, but please keep an eye on our channels for more info in the future. pic.twitter.com/hS1l0rHLFa

Nioh 2 has no announced release date, but will launch on PS4. It is unknown if a PC release is in the cards. We also aren’t sure if Nioh 2 will make an appearance at E3 2019 due to PlayStation pulling out of the show. If we don’t see it at E3 2019, perhaps we’ll see it at some future PlayStation event.
